Team-Teach provides training to staff groups in children's and adult services and Health Care Trusts in behaviour supports and interventions. The training combines both theory and practice, emphasising the need for staff to show restraint rather than apply it! Providing a risk assessment structure to the selection of physical interventions that best allow the employer to provide a risk reduced workplace for service users and staff as well as examples of best practice paperwork that underpins practice in this area.
Following training improved performance would be demonstrated by course participants in:
Level 1 (6 Hour)
Description: Aimed at low risk Service Settings (Mainstream Secondary/Primary Schools, Nurseries, Children's Hospitals, Elderly Care etc), this course cover personal safety, risk reductions strategies, positive handling, together with documentation and legal guidance.
The is organised into 8 modules
Module 1 - Background to Team-Teach
Module 2 - The Legal Framework
Module 3 - Understanding Aggression
Module 4 - How Feelings Drive Behaviours
Module 5 - De-escalation and Defusion
Module 6 - Personal Safety
Module 7 - Positive Handling
(mainly guiding and escorting safety - if a great degree of
risk please refer to the Level 2 course)
Module 8 - Repair, Reflection and Review
Participant will receive a Course Workbook and Certificate. Certification for this course is valid for 36 months.
Level 2 (12 Hour)
Description: Aimed at medium risk Service Settings (Special Schools, PRU's Children's Homes, Elderly Care etc), this course cover personal safety, risk reductions strategies, a range of positive handling and interventions, together with a focus on policy, documentation and legal guidance.

(This section includes guiding, escorting and holding in
standing, sitting and kneeing positions safety - techniques will be delivered appropriate to the service group)
Module 8 - Repair, Reflection and Review
Participant will receive a Course Workbook and Certificate. Certification for this course is valid for 24 months.
Booking
To ensure highest standards of delivery and safety there is a requirement to have at least two tutors running courses for 13-24 participants. An additional tutor is required for 25-36 participants; 37-48 participants etc. Please speak to us about ways costs might be reduced through joining with partner schools.
